Adaptability. Agility. Persistence.

Those three traits have defined how Curran International has navigated the past few years — from pandemic disruptions to shifting plant outage schedules, and most recently, recovery efforts following Hurricane Ida.

Responding to Unpredictable Schedules

On the Gulf Coast, seasonal tropical weather and post-pandemic supply chain shifts have created new challenges for plant turnarounds. Recovery from Hurricane Ida in Louisiana has been especially difficult, with many residents and businesses rebuilding slowly, step by step.

For industrial contractors, these conditions have made field labor availability a top concern. The demand for skilled technicians is high, while the labor market remains tight.

People – Good People!

Building and Supporting Field Teams

Curran has taken a proactive, multi-pronged approach to meet project commitments and keep field crews staffed and ready:

  • Expanded hiring campaigns since July, paired with Curran “Tools and Tech” training days for new technicians.
  • Sponsored employee development, including supplemental OSHA training and Curran Safety Training.
  • Cross-training contract employees in partnership with industry allies to expand available manpower.
  • Upgraded lodging for field employees as a retention and morale incentive.

Management’s Role in Daily Operations

Curran’s senior leadership has been directly involved in day-to-day deployment planning, ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time.

“It continues to be a highly managed situation,” says Alex Barre, Curran Corporate Vice President. “We’re balancing the workload to support safe, productive field teams while meeting customer schedules. Recruitment and training are ongoing — and will remain a priority.”
